FAMILY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH
Families and communities remain at the center of the welfare that is part of them all, from very young to very old. The strength and health of these basic social components is at the heart of the UN-led effort to end poverty by 2030 and to achieve sustainable development goals for social development and health promotion.
HEALTH OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN AS WELL AS SEXUAL VIOLENCE
International Medical Corps considers the health of women and children a top priority for a healthy community. Women are the foundation of their families and communities, so their well-being is crucial for the success of these around them. Protecting this well-being is a key challenge for women and children’s health in most communities.
MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT
Survivors of conflict and disaster are at higher risk for psychological distress and mental health due to persistent and overwhelming confusion and uncertainty, and are often exposed to the immense risk of loss, including home, community, loved ones, and livelihoods. As one of the few international relief organizations that prioritizes the prevention and treatment of mental health and psychosocial needs in humanitarian crises, we’ve the capability to handle those immediate necessities.
WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE
Providing adequate water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services is a major public health challenge in the world today. Providing safe and sufficient water, improving hygiene and maintaining hygiene is important for human health, well-being, dignity and development. International Medical Corps strives to provide the most basic human needs, no matter how challenging this condition is.
NUTRITION, FOOD SECURITY & LIVELIHOODS
Nutrition is the basis of life. Chronic and acute malnutrition had a mortality rate of…… 3,100,000 children under five years of 2015, more than a third of all deaths in this age group.
